Representational Collage: Collagical Organization
"Choose a qualitative word to attach to your interpretation of the interior spaces of your character’s world. Use the same word to interpret each prescribed scheme."
I chose the word encapsulate.
Representational Collage: Volumetric Organization
"This assignment continues to interrogate your ideas and research and develops them volumetrically. The most appropriate spatial organizing scheme you developed in A3b should be used as a departure point to produce an interpretation of your scheme as volume, which grounds your space in a “real world” site of your character’s choosing."
For my earlier designs, I aimed to create a space encapsulated by other spaces, trapping yet formulating new microcosms of the evergrowing outdoor space. I used frei Otto’s architectural structures to explore this idea of containment within my path space relationships, focusing on the restraints and indulgence of form. each of my paths illustrate an encapsulated cyclic motion, whether linear, network or loop, all present this intestinal form, a form in which allows for movement within the space. I find that I focus heavily on my loop path throughout my process, always coming back to this circular idea, whether it be growth, self, or an embryo, the circle has this underlying and cohesive relationship with the body.
